The 9th annual Florence Forth, held on March 6, 2021, was the first road race in Durham after the outbreak of COVID. This made Florence Forth the last road race before COVID shut down the city and the first road race as we all began to figure out how to live in a COVID world.
The 2020 Florence Forth was going to be just another great community race, run and walk. We were running downtown for the third time. And it was another great event. But not the one we expected.

The 2018 Florence Forth event was the largest field of participants with over 1400 registered runners. It was also the first year Florence Forth ran downtown. Everyone received a locally made wood finishers awards.
The 5th annual Florence Forth raised $40,000 . With over 1200 registered runners, it was the biggest Florence Forth yet. In this blog we remember the volunteers and AE patients who make Florence Forth so special.
In 2016, Florence Forth was named the Best 10K and Best 5K in the Triangle, Merge Records, a regular Florence Forth sponsor, created a Spotify playlist for the race, and the race welcomed a soon to be bride and groom for a pre-nuptial run !
The third annual Florence Forth was held March 7, 2015 with nearly 1100 registered participants. In this post we remember 2015 and the evolution of the Kids Cape Dash, the first AE Family Lunch and the inaugural 10K State Championship – all for a good cause.
