Our Sponsors are Heroes

Florence Forth is more than just a race! It’s a community celebration. In addition to the more than 1000 runners and the 100-plus volunteers, Florence Forth happens because twenty-two (22) local businesses support the race and the participants.

This blog is dedicated to them. Please note the names highlighted below and say thank you the next time you see them around Durham and the Triangle. Register today and see these heroes on March 7th.

Super Heroes

When you pick up your shirt and bib on Saturday morning, you’ll be greeted by the kindest dental professionals who work at Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Associates (OMSA). These dedicated volunteers have helped with race day packet pickup as a team for the past 7 years!

And when you cross the Florence Forth finish line, Kim and Jason and team will happily provide your time. They are the owners of the best running store in the Triangle, Bull City Running. And soon they will be opening a new store in downtown Durham.

Everyone enjoys receiving a cool award at the end of a race! Genworth has generously sponsored our race awards for many of our Florence Forth events. And Genworth employee Steve Richman is the voice of Florence Forth.

We love our Florence Forth logo and graphics including our website. We have Registered Creative to thank for branding!

We thank the Durham Sports Commission for helping promote the Florence Forth road race. They work tirelessly ensuring Durham is in the forefront of event planning.

Community Heroes

I’m not sure you’ll meet a more qualified realty company than the great folks at Urban Durham Realty! Courtney James and team are incredible partners not only to our race but to the larger Durham community.

This 31-year-old independent record label, Merge Records, not only supports this event but they run in Florence Forth also! Look for the woman doing air guitar while she runs.

There’s one lucky winner every year of the Duke basketball tickets! These tickets and the Powerade that you’ll find along the race route are sponsored by the locally-owned Durham Coca-Cola Company.

Local Heroes

We are so thankful to Holly and her team at ArtPost. Every year, this group teams up with Yoga Off East , who open their doors to our young participants to entertains young kids during the race during the race for some movement and art projects. Usually this craft involves drawing pictures or writing letters to sick kids at Duke Hospital.

Do you know that we have one of the most popular hand-crafted nut butter and snack bar makers in the country right here in Durham! We thank Big Spoon Roasters for donating bars to our runners this year!

You’ll be thrilled to know that Bruegger’s Bagels will be waiting for you at the finish line!

Who is looking for an incredible workout to get in even better running shape? Check out the Camp Gladiator team who will be leading a warmup prior to the race and cool down after the race.

And new to our race this year is the Corner Mobile Coffee truck. Excellent coffee to keep you going for the day!

Everyone who knows the Florence Forth road race knows we ALWAYS end the morning with a kids’ dash across the 9th Street finish line. This year, Dash Mortgage is providing brand new dazzling capes for the kids dash!

Kids love having their teeth cleaned at Duke Street Pediatric Dentistry. You have to see their fish tanks! They are seriously incredible with kids!

We love our rescue dog, Ocra. And want to see more dogs rescued. You’ll find the Durham Animal Protection Society with some of their furry friends who would love to go home with you.

Also waiting for you at the finish line will be yummy fruit provided by the Durham Co-Op.

We highly recommend that you check out the Franklin Watkins Financial Group. Caring people who focus on their client’s long term needs.

The Hillsborough Running Club is an incredibly active group and organizes a really fun half/5K race in the fall.

You must hit the Tribucha van before you leave for home! You will be surprised with the flavors of their fantastic kombucha! They are now selling in cans throughout the Triangle.

Finally, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the Durham Police Department. There will be 33 police on the course ensuring safety on race day. Please thank each of them for their work to keep us safe at events like Florence Forth but also each and every day in our Durham community.
