With race day rapidly approaching, this blog post provides information on Packet Pickup and other race day information. Be sure to review the Race Info page on FlorenceForth.org for course maps, schedule of events, cancellation and other race policies and other information. Also stay tuned to this blog, follow the Florence Forth facebook and twitter pages and expect an email on Wednesday to all registered runners.
Packet Pick Up
This year, packet pick up will be held on Friday at the Hilton Garden Inn (2102 W. Main Street, Durham). Packet pickup will be held from 3:00pm until 7:00pm. Please note this is a different location than the previous two years.
Packet pickup will also be available on race morning from 6:30am until 7:45am at the start/finish area on Ninth Street.
Same day registration will be available both Friday and Saturday as space permits. Please plan to register on Race Morning by 7:15am to ensure we can accommodate everyone.
Want to switch race distance (from 10k to 5k)? You MUST change your race distance at packet pickup or you may be disqualified.
Refreshments – Pre- and Post-Race
Stay around after for kids activities and brunch. Juju will be offering for sale small bites, brunch drinks (from the bar starting at 9am) and coffee and asian hot chocolate (starting at 7:30am). Dain’s Place will also be open with a limited brunch menu and full bar. Blue Corn Cafe will selling sweet and savory tamales.
The Kid’s Cape Dash has become a favorite activity for kids and parents alike. Capes are provided by Sew Crafty or bring yours from home. (Pattern to make your own here.) The Kid’s Cape Dash (100 yds) begins at 9:30 near the start/finish line.
Other kids activities include face paint, arts and crafts, sidewalk chalk and letter writing to kids at the hospital.
This year Habitat for Humanity have donated a playhouse to be auctioned during the event through a silent auction. Look for it in the Kid’s Activity area.
