Weather & Cancellation Policy

Races are held rain or shine, unless the Florence Forth race directors determine that conditions are too dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made race week or race day by Florence Forth and local law enforcement officials. If the race is canceled due to inclement weather there will be neither refunds nor transfers. This position is consistent with USA Track & Field recommendations and with the protocol of sharing the risks associated with the sport of running. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances Florence Forth race directors reserve the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race.

No dogs are allowed on the race course. Baby strollers are allowed but are asked to begin at the back of the race and be considerate of other runners. No skates, rollerblades, scooters or other wheeled vehicles are allowed on the race course.

The Florence Forth courses will be the same as the previous 3 years.  Each course has been certified by USATF.  NOTE:  The 5K will be about 100 meters longer than the certified 5K to accommodate a shared starting line with the 10K.  The start and finish lines will be on Ninth Street, Durham (in the 700 block).
