Florence Forth 10K Runs Downtown Durham

Get ready Downtown Durham! The Florence Forth 10K is running your way.

Today, the Florence Forth Road Race announced a new 10K course for the March 3, 2018 event. Start / finish remains on Ninth Street.

In its sixth year as one of Durham’s premiere running events, Florence Forth attracts 1,500 runners and hundreds of spectators.

Adding More Good to an Already Great Race

Starting and finishing in the heart of the Ninth Street business district, Florence Forth will become the first Durham running event to connect Ninth Street, Old West Durham, Trinity Park, Downtown, and East Durham’s Golden Belt district.

Runners will experience downtown’s energy as they race down the middle of Main Street, past historic buildings in Five Points, and the still-under-construction-skyscraper One City Center. The course continues down Main Street to Golden Belt before returning back through Downtown to Ninth Street.

Volunteers and musicians from local businesses, churches, and residences will add to the buzz that is Downtown Durham.

Running for Good

Florence Forth offers runners a chance to celebrate their growing community while helping others. In the past five years, Florence Forth has raised more than $200,000 to improve access to care for patients and families facing autoimmune encephalitis (AE). AE is a rare disease where the immune system attacks the brain. By participating in Florence Forth, you truly are saving lives.
