Florence Forth is a race for everyone from walkers and beginning runners to 10K competitors.
We’ve just released a 5K training plan for anyone who wants to complete their first 5K or get back into 5K shape. Crossing the Finish Line requires two steps:
- Register for Florence Forth. Sign up by Jan 9th to save $5.
- Follow the Training Plan described below.
It’s that easy. Now get trained.
Training Plan for 5K
Follow the recently released 5K Training Plan on FlorenceForth.org and you’ll be crossing the finish line on March 7th. As with all physical activity, consult your physician with any questions or health concerns you may have.
The 8-week training plan starts on Sunday January 11th. To start the training plan, you should be able to run or walk/run 1 mile.
The training plan follows the same weekly routine, with mileage increasing by 1/4 mile each week. Adjust the schedule to fit your lifestyle.
For anyone who wants to jump start their training, join us at Urban Durham Realty on Saturday January 10th for a community run through central Durham. Meet at 8:45am; run starts at 9:00am. After the run, we’ll have coffee and goodies. Keep reading the Florence Forth blog for more details.
