Florence Forth requires a community of volunteers, both individuals and groups ranging in size from 2 to 20. A range of race day volunteer opportunities are available.
Over 120 volunteers help make Florence Forth a great success! Below are the volunteer opportunities.
|General Volunteer||6:00am to 11:00am (based on assignment)||If you are willing to help out where needed, please sign up to be a Roving Volunteer. You’ll be assigned to one of the task volunteer areas below prior to Race Day. This volunteer opportunity is for anyone who wants to help out and doesn’t have a preference for any given volunteer opportunity.|
|Parking Area||6:00am to 8:00am||Florence Forth participants will park in several parking lots around Ninth Street. Parking Assistants will direct cars into the parking area and guide runners to the registration and start/finish area.|
|Set-up Crew||5:30 am to 7:15am||Volunteers are needed to help set up the start and finish lines, the post race celebration areas and other set up needs.|
|Water and Aid Stations||7:15am to 9:45am||Florence Forth will have 2 aid stations on the course each with approximately 20 volunteers. Volunteers will set up tables and tents, fill drink cups, distribute drinks to runners/walkers and clean up area after the last runner passes.|
|Course Marshals||7:15am to 9:30am (depending on location)||At various points on the race course, teams of 1, 2 or 3 volunteers will be needed to ensure runners stay on the correct course and support police as needed. The Course Marshals also provide encouragement and support to runners. Bring your noise-makers and cheering voice!|
|Finish Line Refreshments||7:30am to 10:00am||Volunteers are needed at the finish line area to guide runners through the finish line and to provide drinks, fruit and bagels to runners. Prior to the race start, volunteers will set up the refreshment stations and will help clean up their area after the last runners clear the area.|
|Take-down crew||10:00am to 11:30am||Volunteers are needed to help take down tables, the start and finish lines, the post race celebration and other duties.|
